As I can't hunt this season, my plan was to leave the horses out unclipped, 24/7 with Bucas rugs and hay morning and night. All was well; until tonight- lashing rain, field a clay bog, 3 miserable looking equines in the wet and dark....well, I reasoned that it was easier to let them in to feed them rather than stagger through the bog, so 3 smug pones are now in their respective cosy rubber matted stables! I wonder if there is any going back from here..somehow I dont think so..

L ike you my plan is for our two to winter out, with field shelters. Our field still has plenty of grass on it but is pretty wet, and its been raining on and off all week with worse forecast. I'm still holding out, but have got some more bedding today so think my resolve is definitely weakening .

I am completely lacking in guilt that mine are out, and Be doesn't even have a rug on

Ha; glad it's not just me

I have got my new yearling coming home soon too, so I won't be able to leave her out on her own....will I??

same here! mine are all snuggled up in their stables as well - I am sure it is more for my benefit than theirs!!! but they do look very smug with their full hay trugs and jammies on!!! hopeless aren't we.

My 16 year old and yearling are both roughing it this winter!

The yearling isn't rugged yet either, he didn't have one on at all last year!
