dandruff

sorry to gatecrash with a cat post but my cat has really bad dandruff at the minute an it won't go away! she will NOT have a bath so i was wondering if there's anything you know of to treat dandruff that isn't a shampoo? thanks

Bathing might not be the answer anyway, as this would strip out more oil from the coat and may make the problem worse.
Have you tried a little oil in his dinners. I know there is one called something like "super solvitax" for dogs, i used it on my scurfy Spinone. If not try normal veggie oil.

One of my dogs got it really bad, and a simple change of diet did the trick.

My mum used to have scurf problems with her dogs, and it was due to feeding too high a level of protein in the diet - made them itch too. So much the same as the others say really, perhaps try a different diet

she gets dry food at the minute - iams. any suggestions for cat food makes i can try? my mum doesn't want them to get meat food although they get a bit of whatever's on our plate normally!
