Pootling around my blokes little turnout paddock with my pet wheelbarrow and fork I notice yet more rubbish blown from the lane outside. I have had a week of beer cans, Macdonalds cigarette packets etc but the final straw was a Mars Bar wrapper. I leant forward to pick it up and wobbled as it was near the gate and very muddy. Put my hand out to regain my balance putting it on the gate post next to the hinges on the open heavy 5 bar metal gate which the wind caught and swung open further squashing my hand between it and the gatepost. My hand now strangely resembles an elephants buttocks ( I kid you not ) so it may be true 'See a pin and pick it up all day you'll have good luck' but never attempt to pick up a Mars Bar wrapper without taking adequate safety precautions!
By the way a wine bottle cooler from my worst friends freezer helps a lot and she is my worst friend because she is going to make me spend money at Badminton if it kills her!
