If you are giving one sachet of Danilon per day (for arthritis) does anyone know whether the whole sachet needs to be given in one feed or can it be split between two feeds morning and evening?

That's good to hear.

Next numpty question -

My pony is on Metformin and I also give her a couple of supplements. To make life easier I prepare all of these in advance a week at a time and store them in small plastic pots with lids, one for am and one for pm.

Do you think it would be OK to include the Danilon or could this reduce its effectiveness?

Hope this isn't classed as a hijack but what's the difference between bute & Danilon ? Are they equivalent and if so why do vets routinely prescribe bute ?

Danilon is a pro-drug and it is converted to phenylbutazone in the gut. As the conversion occurs later in the GI tract than the stomach it is more forgiving on the stomach than straight bute. The bioavailability of the active painkilling substance is equivalent.

Danilon is coated in sugar which makes it more palatable, I have one that won't eat Bute but will eat Danilon.

As far as it being gentler on the stomach and liver as far as I understand it was initially marketed like that but subsequent trials failed to back this up.
