Sorry, this should probably be in Veterinary, but I think more people read New Lounge. My poor pony got his muzzle off, pigged out on clover and got laminitis in June. On July 15, he had X-rays as he still wasn't 100% sound on turning, and the vet said he had rotation in his off fore and to keep him on a sachet of Danilon a day for a month. He has got "cow pat" problems...I cut the Danilon to half a sachet a day on Saturday...but he's worse than ever today. I think our vet didn't take into account the Danilon he'd already had prior to the X-rays. He has been on it now for longer than a month overall. Has anyone else had this problem? I think I will take him off the Danilon (I will ask veterinary advice when surgery opens tomorrow) but I wondered if anyone had any ideas what I could try to ease the "cow pat" problem. Yogurt? Weetabix? Poor boy is in a mess despite frequent tail and back end shampoos. He is very perky in himself, eating fine and it definitely isn't a worm problem. He's on soaked hay but I have given him a net of old dry hay tonight to see if that helps! Thanks for reading; very grateful for any ideas.
