Dare I mention........Wood Shavings and buying in bulk

Ok, so it is flaming June, but I want to get organised this year! Myself and a couple of neighbours are thinking about buying Wood Shavings in bulk and wondered if anyone has done this to get the cost down? If so, any advice, contacts or leads really appreciated. Thankies is advance xx

I know High Park in Mansfield sell off their previous stock cheap through the summer. They are the nice big flake shavings like Bedmax. I can't find a number just for the shavings but I would think they are based at the sawmill!

01623 491034 - let me know if you have any luck with them. If you need carriage there is a company called Mitchells of Mansfield. I have no links with these other than have used both and got good service from both!

I would look into wood pellets they are fantastic and much better than shavings !! they come on pallets and can be stored outside and hardly take up any room they are also a lot cheaper i use 2 bags of 15kg a week on my horses and that works out to £6 !!
