Hey all,

I have recently re-found Darley Rehoming & Retraining (had totally forgotten about the place until now).
I was just wandering if anyone has had a horse from there?

How was your experience of it all?
How long did you have to wait between applying and being contacted?

I have applied to them today, but am not expecting a quick response as I really want something that could go on to jump, and I appreciate a lot of ex-racers have problems with their legs etc. Saying this, I am being tempted by dressage at the moment, which is odd for me.

But I really just wanted to get some feedback on the place?

It looks brilliant what they do, matching horse to rider and allowing a 3month trial loan before the horse becomes yours. :)

Any thoughts, pics etc would be gratefully received :)

Thanks, I did have a look but most recent I could find was 4+ years ago, I just wandered if anyone had done anything recently as well :D

Will keep looking though :o

I have one - my 3 months is up in Oct.

My boy is an absolute star and I adore him. I ghad to wait a while for him as I wanted one that jumped. He actually turned up the day that my mare was put down. Fate I think...:o

Jo is the manager there and is totally honest. You can ask her and the rider as many questions as you like. Its a fab set up and I would definately get another from there. Lots of help on the end of the phone if you need it. I'll try and load a piccy of my boy.

Gah!! Clearly I am an idiot. I have loaded photos into an album, then copied the link, including the IMG number when i press the insert picture icon. I never thought of myself as an IT idiot...

I dont have one myself from Darley, but a friend of mine does, he's super :) Jo was very honest about him, and he's gone from strength to strength through the summer, winning some classes at local riding club and really learning to chill out :) would happily recommend Darley.

He's gorgeous!!

From what I have heard it is a really good set up and have heard all good things about the place from racing friends.

Thanks - he is a real sweetie to do as well. Just trying to sort out some saddle probs atm. I think Darley are fab. Cannot wait to get him signed over in Oct.

He looks lovely. I sent in an application a couple of weeks ago so don't epect to hear back for a while yet. I'm only looking for something that I can take out locally so I'm keeping my fingers crossed I might hear by next summer. :)

What's your grey called? There was a grey on there I loved. Would remember his name if someone said it

There were 2 when he was on. He was called Dom, the other was Khan. Very beautiful horse but legs like glass and not suited to jumping. To be honest, all of them were lovely. The team there to a fantastic job of 'normalising' them.
