i have been invited out for a day with the dartmoor hunt, but don't know what to expect and if i am up to it. i have visions of having to jump stone walls and no way round except over, can anyone enlighten me on what to expect?

Depends which hunt it is there are loads, round here are the South Devon Moorland and the Mid Devon, and they do very little jumping!
You need a sure footed horse though and to follow someone who understands the moor because of bogs.
Very friendly crowd with both, do go, you'll enjoy yourself.

it is with the dartmoor hunt. the person that has invited me hunts with them all the time so will be in safe hands. hopefully horse has some sense she spent the first 10 years off her life on the moor before i bought her.

Most of the hunts around Dartmoor don't do that much jumping, and if they do have jumps there's usually a way around if you don't want to jump, and the jumps aren't usually too big! I'm sure you'll be fine! Everyones really friendly and helpful so will be happy to help should you have any problems :)
