Do you think it would be worth taking one on? There is a few little cob x's which are a bit bigger than the dartmoors and a little older. They are unhandled etc as well - do you think it would only be worth it if you were really experienced?

I would say either really experienced, or less experienced but willing to learn and willing to pay for a good trainer to help you and show you, and make sure things are going along the right track.

In any case, it is likely to take a long time if the ponies are unhandled - nevertheless it could be a very rewarding experience for the right person.

If you are unsure, perhaps try to speak to someone who has tried it - either someone local or through the forum.

Sorry for slight hijack but where is the facebook group, does anyone have the link?
I'm looking to buy a pony of this sort to sell on to raise money for my holiday.

They will be generally unhandled, but not unused to humans - many ponies make begging from cars in the summer an art form! We've had three from Charlotte Faulkner as companions - the first was a yearling filly, she was nosy and soon handled, we occasionally put a headcollar on her, and she had feet trimmed, wormed etc. The next two were yearling geldings, very sweet but bonded together, friendly little ponies. They were all loan ponies, so were eventually sold.

I think it's just fantastic that a market is being created for these poorly put together, randomly bred little ponies. This will really encourage a long-term solution, like actually instituting some kind of responsible breeding, as they are doing on the New Forest! Yay!
