Datatag on trailers

I brought a trailer 4 months ago and didn't get paperwork to transfer the trailer into my name.....I need to sell it now as I have the use of 2 lorries and it's silly me keeping it. I've emailed Datatag but I'm worried now that I won't be able to transfer it - the previous owners didn't have any paperwork.

Assuming it's not stolen (which would be just my luck!) is it easy to transfer?

I dont think you will have a problem. I sold my Ifor and rang datatag as I'd filled in the forms that were given to me by the previous owner but never got round to sending them off. So really it was still registered in the previous owners name. Datatag said to tell the new owner to ring and they would send new forms out to them to register it in there names. They didnt need the old forms.

On the trailer there is a sticker with the tel no for Datatag. When i bought our 2nd hand (nearly new) Ifor Williams I simply phoned them and they sent me the forms to complete. I did need to know the details of the previous owner though - luckily they told me as it was registered in a company name. I then completed the forms and sent off a fee and it was sorted.
