***Daughter and Dolly - a little show update***

:D love reading your reports. what a lovely, sensible daughter you have, she obviously is thinking about her pony and wanting to give her a good experience. i wish more youngsters behaved like that... she is turning into a proper horseperson........yes go to the championships and have fun!!!!

by the way we havent forgotten about your lessons!!!! we need updates please and where are the piccies? :D:D

Thank you!! I think she's turning into a real horse person too. She's the only child I know that lives and breathes horses - literally, every waking moment (I know they'll be more out there, but I don't know any others - and that's with a yard full of horsey girls!) was funny when we walked the course on Sunday. I walked along side her, and she's counting the strides and saying "straight straight straight, turn" etc.... she seemed so grown up, and so little!!!! Love them both to bits.

Has the above waffle made you forget about my lessons? That was the idea..... I kept going for about 3 months, but have given up again for a while (sorry). I've got to the point where my weight is holding me back. I have no core strength and no balance (I know this, because I used to be very very athletic and know how far I've fallen from grace!!!) and quite honestly, I'm p**sed at myself. I'm going to lose weight and start again. Then I'll have more confidence in what I'm doing, which is what I need. Sorry for the downer :( but thanks for asking (no chance on the piccies!!!) :p

That is really what childhood memories are built on.

Lovely report, well done D & D.

Thank you! :D

The showing and WH show is in our diary, but for some reason I feel we need to be somewhere else that day.....will try out best though. It's nice to have another place to go to now, I always thought it was more for seniors, and whilst daughter was one of the younger there, everyone was so nice to her.

ps looking forward to half term!!! I've been looking at your photos of "Big Rob" and he's......BIG!!!!!! :o;):p

I think a lot of people were at Mottram that day. You usually get a few kids in the smaller classes. The WH shows get a heck of a lot more people, parking there can be a nightmare unless you arrive really early. I've been known to get there at 8.30 when my first class is 12 and plait and clean tack while there!!

Yes Rob is big, but the biggest challenge with him is the getting on!! Can you trampoline? Once you're up there, all is good.. Remember he was bought as a 4yr old for my husband's first horse and Sam went off a 13.2 schoolmaster onto him without any problems.. You on him and D on Dolly would be a good photo! Have facebook messged you with a possible date..

excellent news!! Looks like Dolly was going like a rocket! :) she reminds me of my old pony (i'm sure I say this every time....) and he was awesome!

I'd say aim for the champs, and if one or the other isn't sure nearer the time then don't go....

TRAMPOLINE???? :eek::eek::eek:

hahaha can't wait really, I love him already! :D

I was surprised at how busy it was after you and I spoke about it!! I can imagine with the parking, as it was a bit like "tetris" on Sunday anyway! I think the sun being out brought a few people out of the woodwork!!! :p Saw lots of people hacking there too. There were a few juniors in the class but not little like daughter, I'd have said 14 upwards. Actually there was a really nice mix of people, about 14 in the class which was a good number I thought, it didn't go on forever, but enough to be a good competition, if that makes sense.

Well good day though, and that was before they won :D

ps thanks re your FB message, daughter can't wait!!! :D

hehehehe thanks!!!!

She was quick, but not silly quick if that makes sense!! I might get brave enough to post a video of them soon!!!

:D

Wonderful pics! Congratulations to you all. I agree with everyone else - go to the champs! And think of the fun you will have creating all those scary fillers to practice with lol

Ooooh good idea Strawbz!!! I'm thinking we might need a human filler at some point.......

***slowly looks sideways at unsuspecting husband***

Yay go D&D! :D I love the last jumping photo just after the yellow and black, such determination from both of them.

Defo go to the championships, i went to showing one a few years ago and it was lovely to be at a big show but in classes for the kids.
Also if it starts at 1'9 the fillers will prob be to the side as not many fillers are that small and then she will have seen them by the time they go under for the bigger classes.:)

great pics - nice work :D

Thanks JFTD! :D

Trust you to like that one! That's the only one I'm not too keen on, but Daughter loves it!!!

Well done D & D!!! I LOVE these updates!! X

Thanks! :D

Good point about the 1'9 class and fillers. I have seen some photos with really stonking scary fillers in it for these classes, but perhaps they are the next class up. Definately taking her, it sounds like it will be a brilliant experience! :D
