***Daughter and Dolly-showing/qualifying/membership help needed***

No wise words , other than to say keep it fun for all m'duck  :D

I've made mistakes with D1 in the past and really wish I could re-write history, but she (and I!) have learnt something from each situation so overall it's been good :D

D+D are a good partnership and they're lucky to have you in their corner :D

Those there are wise words Mrs M!

I think I've lost sight of how it's all supposed to be fun. I keep panicking that Daughter is growing out of Dolly, but I forget that she's only 12 and less than 5 stone! I doubt she'll ever grow out of her completely!

And if she does, there's "in hand" isn't there!!! (I'll do that with her!!)

Thanks for your lovely comments, it's really helped.

:)

You are giving her many happy memories to look back on :)
I always remember this advice, from a little book on showing written many years ago, by one of the Bullens.
"Admire beautiful ponies and good riders, but always love your own pony best!"

We've seen some contemporaries get absorbed into the showing scene in a big way, and all credit to them for their dedication and successes.....but I firmly believe that the kids can have much more fun and gain more experience messing about and achieving low level success and failures on family friends with their friends. A much more rounded life experience! If the hard work pays off and they do manage to achieve at a high level, then that's the icing on the cake but its not the be all and end all.

I did try in hand showing at national level with a yearling a few years ago, qualifying for and attending the NPS Championships. Quite an experience and an eye opener!

Good luck to Daughter and Dolly, though, whatever they choose to do, they've both got their heads well screwed on and will enjoy themselves!

Defo keep it fun for them! It's much better for them to excel at a level you know they are capable of getting into the ribbons at . Have seen kids lose confidence And feel very demoralized when competing their all round ponies against show ponies that are bred to compete at the very high ranks.
