Seriously proud of my daughter. She had a fall ( daft fall not off her horse) last October and fractured her spine. tried to convince her to give up and have a shetland. She wouldnt, and couldnt wait to get back on. She started back riding in February but she had totally lost her confidence. We both had to be honest. i'd panic when shed get back on, which didnt help ( Sorry Eleanor) . I was just so worried as to what she could possibly break next:()

Anyway, we have moved onto a new livery yard after selling our yard, and with the help of all the other wonderful teenagers on the yard shes got her mojo back:D. So much so she nagged me to take her to her first in SJ comp in over a year. Her horse spooked brilliantly, but she rode her through it and produced a wonderful double clear.

Unfortunately i didnt take any action shots as i was too busy worrying, but managed to get a lovely shot in the warm up

Really lovely thread- so good to see people get over confidence crisis' as they're the worst thing that could happen to a horse rider/owner!
Onwards and upwards from here, well done to your daughter :)

Thank you.

Shes far braver than me, she just gets on with it, very proud of her.:)

Well done to Eleanor getting over confidence knocks are soo hard and can only be done in your own time.

P.S well done to you too. my son is only 5 and likes the odd potter on the sensible ponies at our yard and I don't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that he isn't more into it as he has no fear and I would be living in constant terror of what he would do next!

Lovely thread! Made me smile :)

Thank you

Thank you. She has had so many knock backs, but the back injury has been the worst. We just focus on having fun, and dont worry about how high ( or low) the jumps are, just as long as we finish smiling :D

Watching your children is defintely worse than riding yourself, good luck with your son x

Massive congrats for your brave girl. My three yr old took a fall from his new pony recently and I was amazed at his bravery - and my fear - when we got him back on!
Us poor mummies!!
