Hi all
Just a bit of im feeling fed up post.

My 11 year old daughter went out for a hack on sat afternoon with 3 friends( 2 were adults), whilst out hacking the pony decided to be naughty as he sometimes is.
He went to rear, althought daughter said it was only a small one and he slipped.
He managed to fall over sideways with daughter still on and her foot in the stirrup :(

After getting a frantic phone call she arrived back at the yard in a kind persons van who had seen it happen.

After spending time in a&e with xray etc we found out she has broken 2 metartarsal bones and fractured 2 others as well has fracturing her whole foot.
Que being admitted to hospital, Sunday was spent in the ct scanner then the operating theatre.

We are finally home but its going to be a long slow heeling process.

Just goes to show accidents can happen anytime, the week before daughter was competing in a down and out jumping 1.10m and i was panicking and a simple hack turns into a nightmare.

Aww bless her I hope she gets well and is back in the saddle soon. Poor you it is often harder for the people who love you x

What a shame, wishing her a speedy recovery. Hope pony was okay as well. Think something is in the air this week, I've just been launched off my mare and onto my head yesterday as well.

Oh no! Hope your daughter is recovering well and that this accident hasn't put her off. and hope pony wasn't injured?

There's definately in the air atm - i came off on a hack on saturday - i've hurt my back and had concussion.

Thanks she not doing too bad, has nearly mastered the crutches.

Shes not put off and is complaining about how long its going to be before she can ride again.

Pony was fine although i havent seen him since sat as been at hospital but all the yard have been looking after him for me.

Somehow it is worse for your children than yourself. I never did get over the worry/panic every time one of the children went x country, and even now they are adults still find I worry about them.

I hope your daughter is not in too much pain and her confidence is not dented. Hope pony is ok as well.

Best wishes, hope you feel better soon and your daughter has a smooth and quick recovery.

I think it's a combination of less turn out, less hacking, less everything due to the flippin' weather.

I fell off today............ not helped my confidence as I've only had this horse a few weeks.

Feeling very stiff in the neck department and know it's going to get worse before it gets better. :(

Hope your daughter mends quickly.

Poor thing hope she makes a quick recovery, the good thing is she can't wait to get back on so at least her confidence hasn't been knocked. I know how you feel as my twelve year old now has her own even though for years I didn't want her to even ride lol, having had my own I was all to aware of what could happen but seeing them so happy and in love with their ponies makes it all worth it :)

Oh that sounds sore! Poor girl! Hope she heals well and no complications. I also hit the deck on Saturday, as my young mare fell in some mud. Definitely something in the air, or rather the bloody ground!

Crikey hope she is ok.
My daughter rode without stirrups when she was on crutches in the end she was going stir crazy and her pony is safe as houses so we took the risk and didnt tell the doctors.

My son also had a close one at the weekend when his pony ducked out round a fence , he was thrown onto his shoulder and smacked his face into the wing of the jump on the way past. Luckily just a bruise but did shake him up a bit so perhaps there is something in the air.

Hope your daughter recovers quickly and the pony is ok
