Hi all

My 7 year old daughter starts her first riding lesson tomorrow.

What should i expect her to be doing or look for at this school?

And how much more am i going to hear 'Mum can i have a pony?' lol

Hopefully the yard will fit her hat, then introduce her to the pony. They should explain what all the pieces of tack are and the school speak, as there's nothing worse than hearing someone shouting "go large" and you're sitting there thinking what???? For her first lesson it should just be a case of getting her balance in walk with a few basic manoeuvres, then hopefully some balancing exercises like round the worlds! And yes, you will hear I want a pony, a lot!

put her off....quick!! :D

iwill give it 2 lessons before you will need to start saving for pony fund....very very bad idea :D .... get her a hamster?

they should provide her a hat - advisable to get her some good boots if she takes to it, and a pair of gloves (cheap ones are literally £2)!...

body protector too for the little uns as they will take a tumble at some point :)
