Cameron has now run up the White Flag on the EU Referendum.
I am really worried now that his next "about turn" will be re: the promise that his party will overturn the FH BIll.
Anyone else of the same opinion?

He hasn't run up the White Flag on the EU referendum - there was no point still promising a referendum on the Lisbon treaty when it will be ratified well before the next election.
But yes, I do worry that it will be 'forgotten' for more mainstream policies if they do come to power.

Am I allowed to reply? Will do anyway.

There was a post on this when he said he would overturn the hunting bill. Most people thought he probably has more important things on his agenda, if he does get into power.

I think general members of the public would be seriously pissed off if they spent more time on this issue, which isn't at all important to most people.

It's a Hunting Act....A bill is a proposed law. MrWoof I would have thought someone with your expertees would have known that. Either way, Cameron has said he thinks the Law is a farce and there will be a free vote on repeal. It won't have to take hours of parliamentary time...and can be over and done with fairly easily.

SB, who is "they?" why not answer your posts- dont be a silly billy!! tomorrow is nearly another day, forget the past and move on!! anyhow, DCwill want to get an open vote on hunting as he was a hunting man himself in the past, hes not likely to go back on his word.

Would have said he or she but I wasn't sure!

Just I said I'd try not to reply to their posts either.. I tried! :p

Did DC used to go hunting then??

I think we are sorted then!

Only in my experience - but the police were out at our OM a couple of weeks ago, they couldn't give a crap what was going on with the hunting, just keeping the anti's under control - they were definitely on our side!

David Cameron's hands were tied with Lisbon, he hasn't done an about turn/run up the white flag/changed his mind.

He said he would offer a referendum on lisbon if it hadn't already been ratified before the election. If the treaty is ratified a referendum would be a pointless waste of money as it can't be reversed once ratified.

He has said that he will offer a refferendum on any treaty, sadly lisbon is no longer a treaty it is now settled EU law, the same as the hunting bill is no longer a bill but an act of parliament. The difference is that a new government do have the constitutional power to repeal the hunting act, whereas they can't repeal lisbon.

Couldn't agree more. I for one don't want to see Conservatives in power, but that's another debate entirely.

i havent read all of the posts on here so may already have been said but i found out the other day that a member of his family is a hunt master i thought that quite encouraging :D

The Conservative party and senior shadow ministers have clearly and repeatedly stated their intention to have a free vote in government time. Instead of worrying about whether he will go back on his word, we would be best to put our efforts into making sure he has an overall majority in parliament to make this a possibility.

I quite agree. I hope you are all supporting and assisting with the Vote OK Campaign?
