So Harlem (know getting to be known as Peanut and responding well) arrived last night. Introductions with my dog Wibble went well, and they had a good run around in the garden with no nastiness.

Bedtime came and Peanut went into his cage in the living room, and Wibble in his in the kitchen. I was amazed. He just went straight to sleep. I was expecting howling, crying etc all night but I slept straight through without a peep from him!

Morning came, pushed them both out for wees one at a time (otherwise they both just run around like loons) and gave breakfast. He came with his food (Tescos own brand cheap nasty kibble) which has since gone in the shed untouched. He had lamb tripe for breakfast and LOVED it.

Did some training using my dried lung/liver/heart treats to see what he knows etc. He exceeded all expectations that I had and was very good in what he knows! Still lots to learn though!

We then went up to the yard for a run around in the arena with the other dogs... He had a great time doing zoomies round the arena!

That sounds really positive - and lovely pictures, I still want to take him home lol :D I know from experience with rescue dogs that there may be blips even when things start off so well, so don't be disheartened if these happen, but well done on a very successful start :) :)

He is lovely and sounds as though he has slotted right in, some dogs do if you are lucky but as Picklenash said there may be the odd blip as he becomes more confident, hopefully there wont be as he looks like butter wouldnt melt.

Yes all going well so far. Took both for a long walk to the chip shop. First time he's had a halti on. Damn he didn't like it, but learnt very quickly!

Tonight not so much fun, lying in bed with him whining and howling downstairs. Last night he was quiet as a mouse! Trying so hard to ignore it and not go down as it's just giving in, but my 5am alarm call is getting closer and I'm still awake!
