frank the fell pony who was semi ferral 2 days ago just a update on what we have been doing with him.

Day 1- morning- couldnt touch him he hides in the stable corner
Afternoon- Lets us groom him walk him around the paddock getting used to feed.

Day 2- We have managed to tie him up groom him pick out his front feet, lead him in and out of the field spray him with fly spray! no bother

Found him lying down asleep this morning in the stable he let me come near him and stroke him while he way lead down :D.

Think i have got the best horse in the world right now!

My other horse eddie has lost the plot thinking he is a mare trying to do things to him with his bits out! very vocal and completely gone crazy constantly got his bits out mounting walls ect... Calling the vet today to try see if he can get gelded but there is nothing visable surely theres got to be something there hes been coltish since he was 8 months now hes aroung 11 months and past few weeks has gone extremely stallionish behaviour!

Thanks for reading !

:) Just like a fell pony, I would always recommend one.

We bought ours at 18 months old totally wild, apart from climbing the stable door on her first day she calmed down very quickly and became a perfect riding pony.

Good luck with him.

aw little frank all sleepy this morning!

I have a yearling colt with nothing to geld! He has also gone very stallionish recently - about 2 weeks ago he started getting very vocal, and he is mounting or trying to mount my geldings - it's tedious and rather frustrating for him (and us).

I have spoken to a couple of vets, and they say if neither have appeared, then that's more hopeful than one, as it might just be delayed development - mine was malnourished when we 'acquired' him. Other threads on here mention some whose man bits have descended at 2yrs old and even as late as 3! Not sure I can wait that long.

They can operate, but I've been quoted £1300 for a laparoscopy type op - they can do it standing and go in through a small incision and get them, basically. But at that price I think I will just wait and pray!

He is getting used to me having a look every day but maybe it's like the boiled kettle scenario - or maybe he is just shy.

I know yes I'm having the same issue its going to cost me £300 anyway cause he is so small ee horses can't live with them or without. Al just keep praying ha

Ok so I went down today and frank had jumped 5ft6 paddock to get close to his friend Eddie Haha ! They had a fight and good old frank finally put the bugger in place. LEsson for today put them out together Haha ! Little monkeys
