another grey filly. :D

Well at 6pm tonight we went to bring Suze in and she normally just saunters along but today she shot in dragging me with her (no mean feet I can tell you). Put her into her stable and within minutes we had nearly every sign of first stage labour. She quietened down for a bit and then hit second stage around 10pm and by 10.20pm we had a very little but well formed filly foal who we have named Orca (there is another story behind this name, which has entertained us ALL evening), she is chestnut atm but has those tell tale grey goggles !!

So that is all three of our Spyder foals safe on the ground now, Hooray!!

:D:D

Just the two in foal to Primo Pageant to go.

Brilliant news - well done! (All I ever wanted was a grey filly and I never got one - very envious!) Can't wait to see pictures x

Big congrats all round!! It's such a relief after waiting all that time!! Now... I mentioned there might be a foaling storm - but where is mine lol?!!! I wanted to join in too!! :D

A friend's mare in foal to Spyder has also foaled this morning, again chestnut going to be grey (very similar markings and stamp to the other 3), waiting to here whether it a colt or filly atm.

It has been really interesting to see what he has thrown in his first year as the 4 foals so far are from 4 completely different types of mares and everyone he has stamped well. :D

Thanks for all the replies everyone, thank god the wait (for Suze at least) is over. ;)

Congrats!! That was an epic wait, you are a hero!! We had another foal last night too, so thats 4 last night of so far!!!

Weather is on the turn here, so as Thistle suggested, maybe they were waiting for the weather to change?!! :D

Looking forward to pics!

And here is the lovely girl

Thanks everyone.

We called her Orca as throughout the whole birthing process we had to listen to Spyder fast asleep snoring making noises that sounded like whale music from the head end and farting from the other end so it was either Orca or Trumpet Trousers!!:D

Typical dad – sleeping through it all :p

Lovely little filly. I'm amused that the mare decided that she emphatically wanted to be in the stable for the birth.

3 fillies how greedy....

It does seem to be a filly year this year. Our first foal this year was a filly (which nail tested filly) and apparently, according to the nail test, I will be having all fillies apart from 1 mare who it says is having the only colt. Suits me but seems a little unbelievable. Time will tell though :)

Thanks gang here's wishes to everyone else that has been waiting a long time, xxxx. We have two left hopefully by the weekend I can sleep and sleep and then some more sleep.
