Ok, so far I have only managed the reverse properly once!!!!!!! I have managed to hitch it ok and not even tried the controlled stop yet! I'm pretyy happy driving it on the roads now although it's pretty hectic with all the busy traffic. Please keep your fingers crossed for my test!

Well done, sounds like a big improvement on yesterday

How soon do you think you'll be able to take the test?

haha it's booked for tomorrow!!!! It was pre booked a month ago. Two full days of training and the test on the third day. I'm not going to pass but happy to go have a go to have a practise!

Good Luck to you....as you've found out, reversing a trailer is by far the most dificult of the manoevres.....just remain calm, don't get flustered & take your time when reversing & all will be well. If you try & hurry it will fall apart...once again...All the Best

Hey...I've just seen your last post......go in with a positive attitude & you'll pass.....go in thinking that it will take you several attempt & it will...so get those positive thoughts going..OK

The best advice I can give you when reversing is not to 'over' steer, you only need to use a little steering. Also, use your wing mirrors, to get the trailer straight behind you, when you see the trailer in the left mirror, turn the wheel to the left slightly and when you see the trailer in the right mirror, turn the trailer slightly to the right.

Wishing you every bit of luck. Most of all remain calm.

Should of made that last post clear. Getting the trailer straight using wing mirrors bit applies to reversing only.

oooh are their details of this course on the net that you could post or pm? I'd be interested to find out about it

I had a four day course and then my test...

Just remember to keep the cones in your mirrors at all time to make sure you don't run over them when reversing. My instructor was a really mean guy, didn't speak to me the entire hour of driving, then when we got back he started being nice to me and asking questions. I was nice to him until he told me I had passed, then I nicely added, "No thanks to you... you could have been a little more polite!"

did you pass your driving test after 1997 then, Is that why you have to do your trailer test!! also can you put green L plates on the trailer!!! just a thought as you can with a car after passing your test, just to make others aware!!!

Yeah, I only passed my test three years ago. Won't bother with Green P plates if I ever pass lol. I'm happy on the roads, just reversing is the problem.
