I saw him and the cynic in me said there must be something wrong with him if he’s being advertised on DD 🙈🙈 still a lovely looking horse though!
Yes, there probably will be. PRE's are easy enough to sell in their own sphere. Anybody tempted, Spanish horses gone wrong are not for the inexperienced (and I mean Spanish-experienced). I have made a very good living sorting out confused/frightened/angry messed up PRE's.

At least you realise a Spanish horse is not for you - and they're not for everybody. It's the people who don't that get in trouble.

I have ridden LOTS of them and although I get the appeal, definitely wouldn’t be my everyday horse.
But yes, they seem to attract a certain demographic and you just want to shout no!! Don’t do this to yourself or it!! Get a nice ISH or something!! 🙈

I’d be wondering if that was a scammer - completed elementary/done a bit of dressage - a bit better than some of the gelded fillies you see advertised, but alarm bells would ring
the dragondriving ad is in worcestershire, the horsequest ad is in hampshire = either a scammer or horse is being sold on very quickly, dodgy either way

Yes he is nice but grey just doesn't float my boat, sorry to those that have greys, I like my bays :)
PRE's are going for thousands at the moment. My friend had loads of trouble sourcing one and had to have a youngster in the end.

I think it's two different horses.

The DD one is a taxi company in Redditch. (I always google phone numbers  )
Whoever wrote the ad. doesn't know what "Elementary" is. Might be fielding calls for someone but wouldn't you write the ad. yourself?

Also on Preloved with exact same wording

Also the "done a bit of dressage" hasn't got any punctuation, an edited section of writing left in by mistake.
However for it to then be copy & pasted into a different advert sends alarm bells ringing. Almost as if, rather than the writer not understanding dressage, it reads more like they don't understand English.

For someone who's not had much to do with Iberians, what is the difference between them and an ISH type say?
Everything! But serrussly, it'd take too long and bung up the thread. Have a look on some of the other interminable threads on here about Spanish/Lusitano horses. They're sensitive, quick, pick up everything, good and bad, extremely quickly, and are pretty full on. You will very likely have to completely change the way you ride and many people find that too difficult.

If you want putting off, I would be way too concerned about a horse of his size/weight jumping things of that size in enough quantity to be described as a hunting machine at 5 years old.
.

Good point, well made - I would be too. I am a sucker for a liver chestnut ID though, it was always the horse I imagined I'd have one day when I was a child/teenager!
Alas the sensible hat of 'you cannot spend your stamp duty money again ASBMO' has so far stopped me from messaging them! 🤣

Can you elaborate on differences in riding style please?

ETA - I see you didn’t want to bung up the thread - sorry for the off topic Q … genuinely interested though 🙈
