A friend's horse was run into by another horse out hunting and tendons of back leg damaged. It now seems that the area filled with blood which has hardened.
(I had this happen to a horse years ago, it turned out to be a ruptured tendon sheath, unfortunately I took advice from yard owners and left it to them to treat it and call vet (i was away at Uni) which they delayed, the 2 tendons melded together in the blood and the whole area went solid. She was field sound from then on, but that was all.)
Friend's horse seems to have a v similar injury, and is on 3 legs. V good vet says prognosis is v bad.
Does anyone know of any way to treat the injury? Shockwave therapy, ultrasound, anything that might work? Thankyou. Any suggestions much appreciated. I think he's going to heaven if nothing can be done, obv.
