'dead horse' check - Must be spring

Last summer someone took a detour and drove to my neighbours house to tell them “their” (my 🫣) horses had died. He told her “they’re not my horses and I don’t think they are dead” but she INSISTED he walk all the way down to the field with her to check. Lazy bums in question were up again by the time they got there 😂 Spanish dragon LOVES a deep sleep flat out in the sunshine 🙈

Edited to add evidence!

A long time ago I sent my (non horsey) husband out to check horse.

‘Look all over. See if there are any lumps, bumps or worse or any blood. Let me know’

Off he went

Came back looking like a rabbit caught in headlights. He was literally white as a sheet.

‘what on earth?’ Says I equally startled.

‘She was lying down’ he said ‘so I went over and she wasn’t breathing. So I shouted her name (yeh really good idea!) and she nearly flattened me getting up!’

Well. Talk about LOL!! 🤣🤣🤣

Last summer I was fixing some fencing and one of the then yearlings was flat out in the field… the other horses came across to me to ‘help’, she didn’t move. One of the workmen on site (not horsey at all) said in passing she’s been like that since I got here (8am) it was then 2pm … cue me running across the field to get within a foot of her, having pulled up the vets number on my phone , before she opened her eyes got up and joined her friends… she must have had a blinking good sleep!!
