I put a post up a few weeks ago about a dealer being good or not, was told good so rang to view a horse but was told he'd just been sold. Scanning through horsemart this evening there i see said horse, up for more or less the same amount as it was advertised with first dealers but now with a DIFFERENT dealer the other side of the country! confused a little bit???

why?!

happens all the time....

1st dealer will hae bought horse for 40% less than was advertised to "joe public"...but another dealer came and offered 1st dealer 20% less than advertised so offer was taken....

horse re-advertised...simples.

really?? but if he didnt sell initially why would they buy? he looks and sounds like a cracking little horse! also he is advertised at same price as before so they wont make much on him

Could have been part exchange - dealer 1 has client looking for a certain type of horse and does not suitable one - another dealer he knows has one and they do a swap?

Or perhaps the horse was sold to a private individual and turned out to be unsuitable so was passed on to another dealer to sell?

The person selling now could just have used the photos, how sure are you it is the same horse?
Even so funny things go on. A dealer I know sold a horse, to another dealer I know, for £600. I then paid £400 for her 3 months later, and sold at £2500.
Don't let it put you off the horse, a lot of people don't know what they have.

Often if they don't sell straight away they just chop them in for something else that they think will sell/pass a different vet in their part of the country. Wouldn't be unusual for no money to have changed hands either way.
