Any ideas we're Yorkshire area but would travel as long as the yard has a selection of horses that would all be suitable
e.g. can stay, jump, have manners and ideally aged 5/6/7ish?

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joe Murphy Whitegate Stables, Warrington - just near Haydock Racecourse.

Bought one from there myself - fantastic horse, straight as they said it was, can't fault it.

Professional people, good facilities and lovely selection of suitable horses.

PM if you want the number, or check out www.whitegatestables.co.uk

I find this question interesting as my OH and I have found there to be a real lack of good, quality big horses which would make hunters.
Lots of big, common ones, lots of tall warmbloods (don't mind WBs but tend to be tall rather than weight carrying)

We produce one or two a year to sell specifically to this market and rarely advertise but have sold to serious packs - the last one went to a field master. The raw material is hard to find.

BTW Wally - I'm sure your horse from Joe is great - I don't question his horses but "good facilities"? A 30x15 sand school and a couple of acres with a pile of tyres and log to jump and on the side of a dual carriageway? That's not how to try a hunter!

Re:Spacefaer

Whitegate Stables would actually let you try a horse for a days hunting before you bought it in some cases so i dont think you could get a better test than that.

As for the facilities - they are upgrading all the time - The horses are certainly bombproof in traffic being hacked out down the side of the dual carriageway - i don't think thats a bad thing at all.

..and yes, my horse is fantastic and will be hunting all winter even though i only tried it in a "30x15 sand school and a couple of acres with a pile of tyres and log to jump"
