Dear nancy,

So today the farrier is coming, it will be your first shoeing without any sedation. You know we have talked about this and I have said i will stand and feed you carrots throughout the entire process. All you have to do is stand still and keep your feet up for a bit. One day I would like back shoes too as next summer now I have my confidence growing, I woant to be going on long hacks through the countryside (mm perhaps I better not tell you that bit!)
Anyway pleeeeease be good today and if anyone reading this can do telepathy, tell nancy to be good!!

Dear Nancy,

I have a message from mummy! She wants you to be very good for the farrier today. I have to agree with her, as do you know what farriers do? CUDDLES! I think it is a fact that every nice farrier's strong arms are very good for cuddles.

So, please be good today. I cantered with TG sitting on my back yesterday with no saddle! She didnt come off, so I guess that means I did something right

Failing that, just steal all his tools and give him the big sad eyes, and beg for a banana

Fingers crossed all goes well. Our farrier is great with scared/nervous horses, has the patience of a saint in that respect.

I dont know the whole sorry but there is hope!

My boy had to be heavily sedated to be shod but he soon got better and now will stand almost perfectly still for a whole set, i dont even have to hold him!
