and will endure daily dogwalking in muddyness & countryside, I don't need to be able to ride in them but they need to be quite pretty too as sometimes will be exposed to having to endure school pick up and days out. Fickle me. Any suggestions much appreciated.x

There's a new range of pink and purple Muck Boots but they might still be a bit clumpy looking for you!

Colleen on here always has a good word for her Toggis and to be fair, she DOES live in them :p :D

Ooh, I will look up the Toggis, hehe yes these will be lived in and as much as I erm endeavour to wash them off and treat them regularly it more often than not gets neglected, but that needs to be a new years resolution I think. Being by the sea the salt water exposure never helps so hunters etc last a month tops. I used to have some muck boots but even they split within a season.. If only these dogs knew the trials and tribulations they caused lol x

I adore my toggi canyons. I will go from school run to yard and wade through deep mud in them, hose them off and be able to do school run again in the afternoon. WELL worth their money and as they're advertised as waterproof if anything goes wrong you can get a refund / replacement. That said I don't wear them in torrential rain, I just wear cheap wellies for that :) But 90% of my time is spent in my canyons and they're like slippers :)

Am impressed with my Hunter neoprene balmorals - 2nd winter now and still going strong, feet are NEVER cold or wet!!
Just don't get any of the other Hunters as there not as well made!!

I have given up with equine boots and went to my local shooting shop - and got some boots and they are FANTASTIC - when i can hobble over to get the name off them i will let you know - the pair i have are over 2 years old - and last years "spare" set are still sitting unused in the tack shed !

I had a pair of Toggi Canyon boots for christmas last year, I do a lot of walking with the dogs (5-8 mile walks on the weekends on a very regular basis as well as their 2 daily walks), as well as all my horsey yard duties (never rode in them)- i lived in them when i wasnt at work - they died a couple of weeks ago, but hadnt been waterproof for a couple of months, they went at the bend of my foot. I also found that initailly they really rubbed my heels.

I've just invested in a pair of Ariat Grasmere's... so far so good, the leather hasnt even creased where my foot bends, plus they are significantly more comfortable then the Toggis! I love them and would happily wear them day in day out if i could get away with it in the office!

Aigle Iso. I've just bought them and I'm really pleased. They keep my feet cosy and they support my ankle which was fractured a couple of months ago. Easy to clean too! :)

I live in my muck boots for yard work, dog walking, farm work... they have been in the sea countless times. Had them a year now and still like the day I bought them.

If you want them to remain waterproof the key is a goretex lining, and treatment only with products suitable for goretex boots.

To be honest if you want something for walking in rather than riding I would consider a pair of hiking boots and then use a snow gaiter or ankle gaiter for times when you want to keep your whole leg dry. You will get something much more comfortable, supportive and hardwearing and they will look fine with trousers.

Ariat Grasmeres. Had mine 3 winters now and pretty much live in them to ride, muck out and walk dogs. Used them at festivals need deep in mud all weekend and they have always been waterproof. I have to admit i have really neglected them as well and they are still going strong!

Ariat Grasmeres all day long.. the most comfortable boots Ive ever owned. I had my last pair for 2 years and NEVER cleaned them (bad, bad me..) - I wore them to work every day (work includes hosing, walking through disinfectant, splashing through puddles and wading through mud all day) and they have only just died. I would think a normal person doing things like yard work and dog walking could keep a pair going for a very long time!

Will be investing in a new pair for christmas.

Another vote for Ariat Grasmeres - well worth there money. I walk doggy daily through mud and bog and wear them around the yard - never clean them other than spray them with some water and then some protector applied a few times a year. They are soooo comfy, warm and waterproof and yet cool enough in the summer months!

Another vote for muck boots, really warm, and not too pricey.

I wear them for everything, including shooting this time of year, and I am very hard on boots.
