My boy is 21 months old and over the last month has suddenly got smelly breath. He has never had problems before and neither did our other dog. He gets fishmongers salmon and potato kibble and a rawhide chew/ pigs ear or cows ear if left alone during the day. Occasionally he gets liver or lambs hearts if the butcher has some going free he also has a stag bar to chew on if he wants. His poos are normal. Any ideas why he's suddenly gained awful death breath?

Have you checked his teeth? He could have some plaque build-up or even an abscess. Is he still chewing the stag bar OK? If not, it could indicate some soreness.

Yes he's happy to chew on the stag bar and any other chews like the nylabone he has. If he has plaque is that a job for the vet? I'll take a look now
