Just had a phonecall from a company who told me they have information on me, that I have unsecured loans.

Yes

They said they could consolidate this for me in to a small monthly payment.

Right

He went on for ten minutes, during which I rolled a ciggie and looked out the window. He asked me how it sounded.

I said.....

I dont need it thank you, I just won big in Vegas, only came back today, I'm never going to need to worry about money ever again .......then shouted YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Silence then okay so you dont need our service?

No I'm RICH YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YIPPEEEEEEEEEE

They hung up

A friend of mine used to do something similar with double glazing / kitchen / insurance salesmen. They would tell him what they were selling and he would spend the next few minutes saying how fantastic the product was and how he and his wife had only been talking about windows / kitchens / insurance that very day. The cold caller would get all excited and ask for an appointment at which point my pal would tell them that the reason they thought windows / kitchens / insurance were so fantastic was because they had only recently purchased new windows / kitchen / insurance. It didn't take long for him to stop receiving cold calls

You can register with the phone preference service which stops all these cold calls. Its free. Just ring BT. The number is in your BT phone book.
For those not with BT--sorry--I don't know if the others do this.

LMFAO!!! I too like to toy with cold callers!! Double glazing salesmen are my fave....I get all "interested" tell them sizes etc etc and the say "can you send the bill to the council as they own my house and i'm sure they'll be happy to pay!!!!" ...they soon put the phone down!! and the latest to call was trying to sell insurance - so i tried to sell him a pony!!!!
