If a livery is on contract but no money is forth coming how long would you wait until you pursue them through small claims court? Has anyone had any experience of this and how costly or successful it is?

I feel pretty strongly that people should have to pass an exam to keep a horse and this livery certainly wouldn't pass. Nightmare.

previous liveries that know of have received a verbal warning at 2 months, written at 3 and action at 4. does is state in the contract at all? lots of contracts state that if livery does not pay, the horse becomes the property of the livery to sell to recoup fees.

I wouldn't leave it that long. Once a person has one month's debt it is very, very hard for them to get the money together to pay back the arrears.

I don't think it does although I don't think these horses would do much on the recoup front. They're unbroken and so neglected the kindest thing would be to send them straight to a rescue center. I'm trying to get money, move them out and get the horses condition sorted by RSPCA simultaneously.
