So my hunters fell apart after about 5 minutes! My Muck Boot Tynes have done a bit better - still waterproof at least 9 ish months in, but starting to go on the soles.

I'm a Registered Vet Nurse who has taken a career curve ball and gone self employed as an animal care provider. I dog walk for 4-5hrs most days, plus seeing to various horses, and doing home visits for cats and small furries. I need a pair of boots that I can ride in, and do all of the above, and hopefully last me at least 12 months.

I don't make a lot of money, so price is very important. Ideally I'd like a pair of country boots with a decent sole and grip, but still good for riding... Please help!

I have a pair of k*ty lake boots from equestrian clearance and I have virtually lived in them for 15 months! In the last couple of week the soles must have lifted or worn a bit and I get water seep through slightly if I step in a puddle, so they are coming to the end of their life. But they are so comfy I'm hanging onto them for as long as I can!

I do an awful lot of walking in them and they have had maximum use. But for £70 they have been money well spent and I will probably replace them with another pair the same.

I adore my Toggi Canyons for everyday wear and riding - a little over budget but I have seen them for about £80 if you shop around and get lucky. Actually, feel free to PM me if you do want some, as I have them on sale in my shop at the moment and could always put a pair in the post for you. :)

Last year I got the kinpurnie boots from derby house. They were down to £65. They are waterproof and sturdy and great to ride into. Lovely dark brown muddy colour so very practical. RRP is about £200 but think they are usually in offer at derby house.

Just looked at DH website. They ones they have just now are the Angus riding ones. The ones I bought last year are the newtyle ones that look more like country boots

Hkm belmonds. I work on a yard and dog walk, they are fab! You can get fur lined or not. I do however once every 4 months or so clean them and apply Mr jojo wsterproofer

I have £58 in the bank :o Bargin price for a pair of Toggi Canyons if you'll take it :p

Go to a Go Outdoors store if you have one nearby, I only ever buy my yard boots from them now. My latest are Hi Tec walking boots, last forever and I walk the dogs in them too. Wouldnt buy anything with a horsey label attached for this purpose anymore, always got extra £'s added on just because they are associated with horses!

Echo this. Mine cost £65 and are well worth it. They're waterproof and extremely comfy. Ever since I got mine I've lived in them. I do tend to clean them a little more than every 4 months though (more like fortnightly!) as I ride in them and they get grimey and dusty.

Thanks I've been looking at them today, and they look lovely, so I think they will be what I go for :D
