SHARER WANTED FOR MY 15hh WELSH D

Jet_jump_MKEC.jpg

• 2/3 DAYS A WEEK – AM FLEXIBLE ON DAYS

• SMALL FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION REQUIRED

• OPPORTUNITY TO DO ON SITE SHOWS

• STABLED AT MKEC – FANTASTIC FACILITIES

I am looking for someone to share my boy 2 days a week. I would like someone to have lessons with my instructor for consistency with his schooling. However, I don’t school every day as he gets bored so if you want a dressage horse he wouldn’t be your cup of tea - but we are working towards basic prelim tests to improve his general way of going. He loves his XC and jumping and is great hacking out.
It would be useful (but not essential) if someone had experience with Welshies as they can be a bit of a handful (stubborn but not silly!), although once they know you’re the boss they are very willing and easy to handle.
He would be good for someone who likes cobs and is looking to move up from say a placid cob to something that is a bit more of a challenge/forward thinking! He is a great character and I love him to bits – I just want to share that experience with someone else.

He looks lovely!

Good ad - I would probably just be clear on how often you want them to have lessons and how much they cost so potential sharers have a proper idea of the financial commitment.

Good luck!

What a lovely looking lad. I'm sure you will find the right sharer for both of you. Ad wording seems fine and if you are including the pic that will encourage more people tp apply. Ditto ncarter on how often you would like them to have a lesson.

Might I suggest the following little changes in <>?

SHARER WANTED FOR <MY - delete, sounds posessive!> 15hh WELSH D <horses name here>

• 2/3 <FLEXIBLE> DAYS A WEEK <– AM FLEXIBLE ON DAYS delete, to make shorter, they'll be reading lots of ads>

• SMALL FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION REQUIRED

• OPPORTUNITY TO DO ON SITE SHOWS

• STABLED AT MKEC – FANTASTIC FACILITIES <say what these are & if you have to pay to hire/bok in advance>

I am looking for someone to share my boy 2 <or 3> days a week. I would like someone to have lessons with my <dressage only?> instructor for consistency with his schooling. <specify frequency & cost as others have suggested> <However, I don’t school every day as he gets bored so if you want a dressage horse he wouldn’t be your cup of tea - but - delete, sounds negative> we are working towards basic prelim tests to improve his general way of going. <But> He loves his XC and jumping and is great hacking out <so I'd like him to do this on one of your days>.
<It would be useful (but not essential) if someone had experience with Welshies as they can be a bit of a handful (stubborn but not silly!), although once they know you’re the boss they are very willing and easy to handle. - delete unless he is TOTAL pain, I went from RS cobs to an excitable Arab share in one jump, you don;t want to scare poeple abt the (actually quite safe) breed!>
He would be good for someone who likes cobs and is looking to move up from say a placid cob to something that is a bit more of a challenge/forward thinking! He is a great character and I love him to bits <this part says what you need to abt Welshies but is much more positive, sounds great :-)> – <I just want to share that experience with someone else -sorry but I'd take this last part out as it doesn't ring true. Most owners want help with chores (you should specify if you do) or just don't have time/money for a whole horse. Us sharers know this and don't mind at all - neither do we! (If you really do just want to share the joy then mention that you've another horse and you want to hack out with sharer or something)>.

I don't think it is a bad ad at all, it is just I read LOADS before finding the right horse & set up for me so I'm super-critical!

Happy sharing!

Thanks all for you replies. It costs me nearly 400 a month (and that ain't including shoes!) so I was going to ask for 25 quid and that's it. The only extras I would ask would be if they couldn't get down on their days to turn out/muck out etc - as I'd have to ask the yard staff to do it - but I assume they would. Do you think this is a reasonable price?

As for lessons I guess one a month or fortnight? What do you think?

At the moment I've only put it up locally as I need someone nearby so most people know where MKEC is as it's one of the big eventing centres in the area (with fab XC course) - if they don't then perhaps they aren't that local!

I wonder if I should have put him as a good all-rounder?

as i sharer im more of a thoroughbred / thoroughbred x girl when looking for a horse to ride but hes lovely! good luck to you - im sure people will jump at the chance!
