Just wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation to me, the company I work for has been sold to a larger organisation. If I decide I do not want to work for them I have a set amount of time to make that decision and will be entitled to a redundancy package. If I stay I only retain that right to that package if they decide they don't want me anymore. I will have to change a lot of things in my working life and I am not sure if it is better to cut and run or stick it out and see what happens. I feel that at the wrong side of fifty and with elderly parents I am not sure I want to be plunged into the unknown! Anyone else been faced with a dilemma like this?

Hubby was faced with something similar, we sat down and worked out if the redundancy package was enough to cover any outstanding large debt (mortgage) and if we could manage on what we would have coming in if he didn't get another job/retired. We were okay so he took the package and hasn't looked back!
You need to work out how you stand financially if you leave and find it hard to get another job first I would say.
