It's very likely that I will have the capacity for another horsey... due to a change in my working patterns and a couple of other reasons. I'm keen on buying a youngster -- BUT I'm trying to decide which way to go. I love dressage --always been my 'thang' and have just started showing with my new boy (Traddy Cob) so I've been considering which way to go with my (probably last) youngster as I'm not getting any younger myself...

I'm looking probably for a yearling or 2 year old but I can't decide what to get... It's going to be either a Show cob (of the heavyweight hogged variety) or a trip to the hannovarian or oldenberg sales ( a long term fantasy of mine) for a baby dressage horse... UMMM I keep jumping one way then the other... can't decide

Which way would you go?

It's up to you but it sounds as though you already have a show cob so why not realise the life long dream and get a dressage bred youngster? You only live once :).

My friend has a lovely buckskin yearling gelding for sale!!! His mum is a pink papered brandenburger and has ladykiller bloodlines pm me if you would like number x

Dressage gets my vote!!

Don't know much about showing but I think you would get a lot more pleasure climbing the levels of dressage and for filling your dream.

Very jealous by the way- lol x

I have a KWPN who I got as a 'horse of a lifetime' youngster to do my own way(I wanted a hacking horse that I could do a bit of dressage on)
So glad I opted for the dressage type.He is a fine looking animal so I guess I could show him if I was into that sort of thing. He has the ability to reach GP which keeps me excited(dreaming) but most of all,the quality of movement that goes with this type of horse is SO comfortable(Important as we advance in years,I think.) And his abitily to do fancy stuff,sideways,backwards,halt-canter-halt,pirouttes,make hacking fun and most of all safe.
So the dressage horse would get my vote every time.

Start again....arhh silly phone

As I was trying to say...

I'm with Firewell, and as for your reply that dreams don't always turn out the way you want them to, well they won't with that attitude!

Chase your dream, go for it :)
