Hi , Declan is not stolen, but iam desperate to find him as I lost touch with his last known owner a mrs Jaycock who lived in Essex. This horse stole my heart from the moment I saw him and I have never got over losing him You may think why did I sell him ...well he wasnt actually mine, I was his groom and looked after him 7 days a week, the real stupid thing is His owner offered to gift him to me but I was worried I wouldnt be able to afford to keep him as my job was ending with the sale of the horses. I regret this deeply but know it wouldnt of worked out as I spent three years blind not long after he went and am now waiting for a double transplant... however my heart yearns to hear about him and what he got up too in life. I will get my partner to post a couple of piccys up later as Iam useless with computers but he was pretty distinctive as his white blaze went over one eye. Absoloutly any news appreciated thanks kxx

I do know a 16.1 chestnut called Declan, erm but you dont give much info, this horse was on riding school in west sussex but now he is owned privatly. He is a really chunky reliable horse, has a blaze and also some white socks ( i cant remember what feet or anything like that as he's not my horse).
Could this be the horse you are talking about?
I've known of him for 3 years.

I've read the other posts and been mulling this over. I also used to ride at Hangleton in W.Sussex and rode the chestnut Declan there quite a bit and from I can tell of his markings compared to those of the Declan you are looking for they are actually very similar. I can't find any photos right now, but I'll see what I can do.

I don't want to get your hopes up but the two are very similar. if you have facebook type in hangleton farm equestrian centre (hfec); there is a group on there and you may be able to find someone who can help you figure out if it is the right Dec or not.

if you still need the address pm me and i'll send it to you.

hope everything works out for you (if it is the same horse, he's awesome, tried buying him myself at one point!)

Hi there,

My friends at Hangleton have told me that you are looking for a horse called Declan. I bought him in June 2007 directly from HFEC, I belive that he had been bought by the riding scholl as a three year old, which would rule him out as a horse you looked after for some years. Declan is a superstar who has worked very hard all his life on the riding school. Now privately owned he competes at Dressage currently up to novice level, and has just started jumping out. He is a very happy boy who I love and adore with all my heart.

I wish you all the luck in finding your Declan, I have loads of photo's but can't work out how to attach them!

All the very best

Hi, sorry, one last thing - are you sure the pictures are of the same horse? It's just that pictures 2 & 3 look the same but the first one looks so different.

Forgive me but I am now having second thoughts that my declan may be the horse you are looking for?

Hi,

I have now done some investigating about Declan's coming to Hangleton all those years ago, he infact came from west sussex, and not essex.

Having had a chance to look at the pictures my declan's white blaze doesn't cover one eye, or the bottom of his lip, and he only has two white socks on his back legs.

All the very best for your operation, I hope you have a speedy recovery and one day find your Declan.

Very best wishes

Hi Curleylocks, thanks so much for letting me know about your horse ...it is a strange coincidence as they do look similar, and the fact they share the same name but from what youve said that would rule your declan out, The horse I had, came from lynn russell as a five year old and she told me he had been shipped from Ireland. we then had him untill he was 10 or 11 and then he went to essex. Its unfortunate but I dont know what his breeding is other than ID/TB. Wish I knew his sire! Thanks for your best wishes, I hope you have lots of fun with your Declan ..he sonds like a special one too. I will keep looking love and light Kxx

Hi,

Lynn Russell lives in Plaistow which is West Sussex, I notice the previous post which mentions the other Declan came from West Sussex. Is it at all possible it could be the same horse after all??
