According to my in-season mare, its spring. Me? Im not quite so sure as i sit here with tights on, fluffy socks and fluffy pj's trying to keep warm!
So, in the past few weeks we decided that as lovely as our current yard is, it isnt providing dee with what she needs. I have found a lovely yard. 10 minutes from home, 50 acres of turnout, 60m x 20m school, indoor stabling etc etc. Whats better? Foaling down boxes, experience with folaing down/pregnant mares, and dee's very own foaling box with heat lamps, CCTV etc. Everything i could possibly need. £65 per week part livery.
So not only am i saving myself a lot of money, but its closer to home and im more hands on.
I am over the moon! They will muck out/turn out weekdays but on the weekends she is all mine. I cannot wait to move! I handed my notice in at my current yard, everyone was really shocked that we were leaving but everyone also agreed wheni explained that it was definetly the right move. So, 10 minutes ago i signed my new livery agreement.

I have been busy too, buying rubber matting (erm...the cost :shocked: !!), feed bins, feed, shavings etc. It all suddenly seems very really and its very exciting, but i cant help but think dee is coming home.
Delicia is in fine fettle. Shes dropped just a little bit of weight, the pure horse feeds hasnt faired so well this winter so i have changed her feed and *touch wood* she is doing really well on it. But currently being stuck 21 hours a day is not making her a happy bunny.
or me. I will be glad to rug her up and chuck her out in the field. She has been in pens but not a proper field since august last year. I am very anxious that she is going to hooly around and injure herself, so tempted to sedate her to begin with. Once shes settled she has some elderly welsh sec D mares for company. The new YO's are lovely, and we have known them for a long time. So really, couldnt be happier.
