DEET!? Dilution!? Sweet Itch Advice?

My sweet Itch Inflected Cob is about to return home from loan. Im preparing myself as he is quite time consuming, and this will be the first time ive had to manage a horse and my 2 year old little girl at the same time! Im not in the best of health either having 2 illness this year which required hospitlization..Im praying i dont struggle!

Anyway..In the past ive always used off the shelf fly control and rugs 24/7

Id like to try to make my own fly spray and so far have purchased avon skin so soft spray bottles (x4!) and a bottle of 100% pure deet..Deet can be nasty stuff im wondering how much to use of my 150ml bottle and diluted with what?

I am hoping to get him allergie tested through my new Vet to find out what hes actually alergic too as well!

In the past ive used everything on the market i could find in large quantitys ?(proved effective but expensive!) The vet also gave us several bottles of 'switch' which i found not to work for him, using anything sparingly doesnt work, no matter how potent! In the past I literally soak him through with fly spray and bathed him as frequently as i could!

If someone could advise of what concentration of deet to use, and with what would be really helpful?!

i was thinking along the lines of:

50ml of deet?
150ml of avn skin so soft?
Some sort of emulifyier??? washing up liquid???
White Viniger?
Water?

No idea if it will make a thick sludge!

I would get a sweet itch rug and use Benzyl Benzoate from www.hyperdrug.com this works amazingly and doesn't need to be mixed or sprayed. I just put benzyl benzoate down the middle of her main and on the top of her tail and have had no problems this year.

As for fly spray, deet burns her skin - i use citronella oil from b&q neat and spray on - lasts in showers better too.
