We have a semi detached 4 bed cottage on a plot of 1.5 acres. Within this plot is a small turnout paddock about 2 tennis courts size with a 12by12ft stable and a smaller 7by12ft stable on a concrete yard with water and electricity, large field shelter, couple sheds for storage, small leanto hay barn plus double garage and a big single garage.
Currently we use most of the 1.5 acre for lawn as we borrow 4 acres from next door but this is no way guaranteed. Our 'lawn' of just under a acre would easily convert to more grazing with about a 50m run of fencing. Good hacking nearby plus several equestrian centres within 20mins hacking distance. We have always had at least one pony on the land and as she was a lami prone welshie she only ever lived in the small turnout paddock anyway.
Would you consider this an equestrian property? If you were looking for a property on a limited budget would you consider an acre enough to keep a horse or 2?
