Has anyone experienced a delayed reaction following a six monthly flu jab booster? Horse was vacc'd ten days ago but last two days has come up in large oedema over site of injection and stiffness, looking lame and shuffly. Do you think connected? Thank you in advance.

Could have pushed some dirt in with the needle which has caused a reaction. This happened to mine where she was microchipped and it ended up causing a fistula which ended up being treated with several lots of antibiotics then surgically removed.

She had a hot swelling on her neck which itched as she madly wanted to rub it but in herself she was okay, no illness just the abscess which kept tracking up then bursting out on her crest.

Did speak to the vet, thought it was unlikely it was related to the vaccs.

Oh for goodness sake!

Horse has an abscess like lump on the site of an injection in the sort of time it would take an abscess to brew and vet doesn't think it could be connected?

If it looks like a duck .....

Where was the jab done? Is there any chance there has been a kick or other injury?
