I went a couple of times to educate (or not!) an ex racehorse. The fences are small, there's a little water complex and thats about all I can remember. I quite liked it, it served it's purpose as a nice unassuming place to school.
Jumps are ok, not a HUGE range but a fair few set out round a course. The water is under trees, tiny, dark and murky.
The ground is either ROCK solid or knee deep in mud IME
Oh, and if you come off (like I did at the third fence...) and your horse buggers off, expect to run very fast for miles and miles chasing your horse's tail as they don't do fencing! I have never again run three miles across country quite that quick
Just shows how long it is since I went, I could have sworn the fences were 2'6 max
The car park was a nearby field (when there was a competition on) and when we went to school, we parked in the large farmyard. Plenty of space on both counts.
They have put new (bigger) jumps up in recent years... I've probably not been for six years (but then I did fall off at the third fence so I didn't get to see much of the course!)
They have put in some bigger jumps, and a new water complex, there are steps and a steep hill.
There is plenty of parking.
I took my daughter there for a schooling session a couple of weeks ago, we had the course to oursleves which was brilliant, but even then the ground was pretty hard.
Tenantry at Rockbourne is a good schooling course too.
i suppose the ground will be a problem on the day .... does it get slippery if it rained on the day before? then dry the next day or i suppose sounds like the type of place its either boggy or hard
