denerving / neurectomy

How would you know if a horse had been denerved? Would there be visible scarring, and where on the foot or leg would this scarring be located?

you usually wouldnt be able to tell unless told. works well but does need very careful management and vidulent checks twice if not more per day. the nerves do grow back after a couple of years tho disorganised so horse often remains sound and pain free.

prick the heel bulb with needle. If the horse does not flinch it has a numb foot.
