Hi, I have been feeding Baileys Lo Cal for a year or so to my mare who is prone to tying up and a poor doer in addition to Dengie's Alfa A Oil. I now see that Dengie do their own balancer which sounds good as it is molasses free whereas the Lo Cal still has molasses. Also like that it's based on Alfalfa and linseed. Anyone got any experience with the Dengie option as seriously considering swapping over. Thanks.

Yes, I am interested too . . . also, I should have studied the label on the Bailey's Lo Cal I just bought better . . . I didn't see molasses listed as an ingredient (but I wasn't wearing my glasses) but it's definitely there :(. Sigh. Will be either selling/giving what I just bought to a fellow livery or putting it on the muck heap . . . Kal really can't have molasses.

Price really. I was sceptical but I honestly didn't see any change at all in him. Winter will be the real test though.

Thanks for this - this is why I have switched from Blue Chip . . . cost. I'd be interested to hear from others who have switched to Horse & Pony Direct . . .

Have fed Baileys for yrs so also interested to see how people get on with others, i changed from TopSpec as it sent one of mine loopy loo, Baileys he is fine but if there is a cheaper alternative then i am all ears.

Have you thought of Spillers Lite? No experience of it but I think its a lot cheaper per bag, just depends on the quantities you feed.

Hi, just looked up the Horse and Pony Direct lite balancer and it appears it has higher starch and lower fibre content than Dengie, so not ideal for my horse...
