Hi've just won a bag of either hifi or alfa a balancer (YAY!)but haven't fed it before... wondered if anyone else has? and how you found it? I would usually steer clear of balancers because of the protein content and my boy is only 3 but these are realatively low in protein so I am very tempted to stay on it after my free bag is finnished... if it's any good that is!

Hi have fed both hi hi good doer and lite and dengie balancers. I do rate their products well, although i found the balancer did give my boy a little sparkle, nothing stupid or spooky, just a little boost! Overall, I would say they are good quailty products which my horses has been on now for 3 years and looks and works well.

Hi Vicksey, Yes, I'm a long term user of their products and currently feed hifi-lite and alfa lite. I am in a little dilema as to which balancer I should buy as the alfa balancer seems to have a bit more in it (linseed oil and glucosamine) which should mean that I can cut out most of the supplements I feed (Soya oil and Glucosamine on top of a broad spec supplement), thus saving me the difference in price between that and my broad spec supplement, but I don't want to overdo the nutrients for my youngster and or make him stupid.... especially as I will be backing him in the spring...

I guess I'll have a chat with their nutitionists when I pick up my voucher at YHL tomorrow and see what they say...

yep my horse is on the hi fi balancer, it has been very good she is a little mad very easy to make worse by feeding the wrong thing. but she was on box rest for about 10 months with 'controlled' exercise and didn't feel it made her any more excitable and everyone said how good she looked really shiny and good top line even though not in work.
10 out of 10 from me

I use the alfa balancer and really rate it. Definitely saves money on supplements. My horse looks and feels well. It doesn't make him fizzy- if fact when I want competition oomph I can add oats for that sparkle.

I worked out all the costs per feed and the nutrition gained and find its the best option- especially if you want to add glucosamine- if i didn't topspec would be my next choice.
