Can anyone recommend a good dentist based in Kent/Sussex? I need a sympathetic one as my mare has to be sedated due to a previous bad experience.

I used to have Chris Warren who is excellent but very busy as does all the celebs horses! He recommended me Nick Coles who trained with Chris and who is also excellent and great with nervous/difficult horses. My last chap always had to be sedated prior to when I purchased him and neither Chris or Nick had to use sedation, they really have a good way with them. Can PM you Nicks number if you need it, he is based in Sussex but covers Kent too?

ok, that would be brill - when I brought her back in August her previous owners had her teeth done by the vet before I took her away and told me that she need sedating but I have yet to see what she is like myself!

I've used Doug & Simon Vieweg in the past - I would say Doug is much better with the more difficult horses than Simon.

Nat heal is fantastic only dentist i have ever used who has not sedated mine or even suggested it. He is sooooo good and very reasonable in price, doenst mind if horse is easy or difficult they turn into putty with him

highly reccomended

Would recommend both Doug and Simon Vieweg and Nat Heal.

Bell equine also have a vet who is also a qualified EDT (Rob Pascoe) so if your horse needs sedating then it might work out cheaper to use him as he can obviously do his own sedating.

Another one for Nat Heal here.

My daft horse goes to sleep while Nat is with him

Viewegs are excellent have used them for years they do pretty much most of the horses I know - very experienced and very very well qualified have no hesitation recommending them.
