Can anyone recommend an EDT in Newmarket please? Ethel is due and I dont know of any dentists in the area! (Not been here long) She needs to be sedated to have her teeth done because she WILL throw herself over. She hates anything being done to her mouth, she's gotten better with her bit, wormers etc but is still a pain if I try to look in her mouth and I dont want her hurting herself. Can dentists sedate as well? Or would I have to get the vet out first?

Dentist won't sedate so you will need a vet on hand (who might do dental work anyway) unless you can take her to one of the vet practices in Newmarket itself, there are several around the town.

Rossdales are the best for teeth!

Use Pete or Mark both have the dental qualification as well as being vets

There is a lady called Bev Rippon that is fantastic - I have a feeling she's based that way?

She can normally do most horses without sedation, but I think she has a long waiting list (we have to book a bulk yard visit about 2 months in advance!)

Thanks :) I dont want to risk doing her without sedation, shes so funny with her mouth the first time we tried (without sedation) she was rearing and nearly throwing herself over backwards. That was just when the gag was put on, dentist hadn't opened it yet. I'd rather keep sedating her until im sure she wont be a muppet and hurt and/or scare herself.
