Jake had his usual regular dental visit today and I was horrified to see the look on the dentist's face as he was up to his shoulder in Jake's mouth.
It turns out, he has fractured the middle of a molar (211) and there is a 1/2" gap between the 2 sides of the tooth. All the food was removed from the centre of it and I could get my finger through the middle of his tooth! it was revolting. I could have put my finger in deeper, but didnt.
I have no idea how he managed to do it. Does anybody else have any experience of this?
He has to go to the vet school for x-rays and extraction. This presumably will involve a GA and a cheek incision extraction.
Anybody know how long he will be in for and what is involved?
I still cant get over putting my finger into my horse's root canal!!
