A long time ago i saved for and bought my horse a bridle from Derby House. There was nothing put problems with delivery- had to sent it back as wrong size (not my fault) waited forever for a replacement which eventually arrived after i chased it up several times.
Anyway its not useable, however i punched holes while trying to adjust the noseband so cant return it really- I cant undo any of the buckles, not due to stiff leather but the buckles are weird. Impossible to undo off the horse forget about on it- I had a real job to remove it from my horses head! The browband is ridiculously short and even tho the bridle is a size too big i've had to replace its "full size" brow band with a bigger "cob" size one!

I complained (via contact us on web site) and after a few weeks got a ph call saying they were very concerned and "looking into it". Asked which bridle and what colour/size etc said they were referring to manager and will get back to me....................
Few months later i file another email complaint....nothing at all.........

I'm really annoyed i wanted to treat my horse and myself to a smart new bridle which wasn't massively expensive but is money i cant afford to loose but the bridle is sat in a cupboard and the old one had to come back out.
Any suggestions? surely i have some sort of rights but no idea what to do?

Thats really bad that a cob browband is bigger than their "full size" i dont use derby house much anymore i prefer robbinsons or go to a local saddlery ect but i would carry on contacting them if they dont reply to emails ring them if it happens to go on forever ask for your money back and keep filinmg complaints if they dont repsond or also get as friend to file a complaint or from a differtent phone number or email.

Its ridiculous! This particular horse takes cob size everything and he has borrowed many bridles so i could see what i wanted- all cob size all fit, The derbyhouse one i couldnt even get the noseband to meet round his face (maybe it was just wrongly marked? the bit was too high in his mouth but didnt go lower! The full size as i say i still had to punch holes- he's a 15.2 TB and quite a fine one at that!

I would never buy the DH own brand stuff again - I bought a neck cover and the sizing was just weird and it was unusuable - i complained and took photos and they did send me another one in a different size but fitting still odd so it was the design that was the problem.

friend got a rug and had to send it back too as it had a problem with the stitching on the neck and it just fell apart as did a pair of boots that i bought too they last about 5 months (admittedly they were very cheap only £10 in the sale)

none of us had any problems with customer services though and replacing the stuff and the pricing is very cheap so have to be realistic about expectations!

I think you're probably onto a loser here ... You'd have to prove a manufacturing fault and your statutory rights say if it's faulty within 6 months you can return it. Sounds like you've gone over that time frame so unless the company decide to give you a refund then you're out of luck. Really you would have been better off trying it on him on reciept and not stamping holes in it. When you established it didn't fit, under distance selling regs you have 7 days to return for a full refund if you don't like it. I think you might have to chalk it up to experience.
