Looking to invest in some new comp breeches and am deliberating trying Derby House...

What I'd be interested to know is how do the compare in terms of quality fit and sizing to the likes of Cavallo? Or is it very much you get what you pay for??

Particularly interested in the full seat breeches but am wary as most cheaper brands with full seat tend not to be anything like Cavallo in terms of fit and comfort in the seat...

Usually would buy a 26 or 28 in Cavallo (am between sizes) - a normal 10/12 in womens trousers (usually more of a 10 than 12 but I am quite boyish in shape I.e. Not curvy so it depends on whether trousers tailor in at the waist considerably as to whether I need to go up to a 12 (if that makes sense?!) So anything that goes in too much at the waist is out. How does the sizing of the DH breeches come up?

Thanks, is there any "give" in the full seat ones? And how thick is the fabric of the rest of the breech? Don't want anything too thin! Haha

I bought 2 pairs (different styles but both DH) in size 28, and my friend bought 2 pairs in size 30. They were all completely different and we ended up swapping one of her 30s which were small with one of my 28s which were enormous :eek:

Ditto the quality and stretchiness - some are okay, some seem really cheap and nasty when you consider that full price they would have been around £70, some are stretchy and some are like riding in a straight jacket (of the leg variety!).

I bought two pairs of their full seat ones and absolutely hated them, not only were they badly sized (too small), the material was really awful polyester type stuff - YUK! They went back.

I have the size 30 (pearshaped:() DH denim stiched breeches and their my fave, dead comfy,give good extra grip/security in the saddle and the material is thick/durable and warm.

I also have the same sized denim jeans breeches with the brown seat but don't find these one as comfy as for some reason the hook/button has started not to stay it just falls out and ofc then unzips >>;

I have two pairs of full seat denim ones and I'd say they are both totally normally sized, and they look nice, and they've lasted well. Don't know about competition breeches. I'm going to try Mark Todd ones on Lolo's suggestion as I can find them for £60 or so and lots of people seem to like them :)

Sizing is fairly true. However, i purchased a pair before xmas, as did my friend. I found they looked really smart and very trendy (i ppurchased dark denim ones with suade full seat).

However, i find them really uncomfortable to ride in!!! As does my friend. Its difficult to explain but they dont seem to be cut properly. They are tight on my knee and obviously my ankle but loose in the leg. They almost feel like they are pulling up my leg.

I am 5ft 8 and size 14 and my friend is a petite 6-8 5ft 2. So completly difficult bodies but both of us have the same conclusion! They may loosen with wear but at the mo i find myself choosing to wear my old ones over them coz of this!
