DERBY HOUSE PROPOSES 'VOLUNTARY ARRANGEMENT' TO CREDITORS

Troubled retailer Derby House has appointed three new directors – Martin Turley, Mark Reeves and Chris Storr - as part of its revival plan.

Nigel Cayzer, who was appointed a director in 2002, remains in place.

The Lancashire based company has also proposed entering into a Company Voluntary Arrangement subject to approval at a creditors’ meeting scheduled for 26 January.

Maybe with different people they could sort out their delivery problems, many a time I've had to wait three months for a delivery.

I read the email from them too and wondered if someone would post it, you beat me to it!
Wonder if things will work out for Derby House.

I got sent to very south Lancs, with work the other day and on the way back home to Blackpool (still on duty), I had to pass Junction 27...

I had no outstanding calls and had to fight the temptation to veer off the M6 and go for a look round Derby House

However (professional that I am) I resisted the urge and dutifully carried on my way back to base.....

Then I texted my boss and demanded that go in my file for consideration for a raise;)

How sad, I still keep on thinking of the gorgeous little Derby House in Newburgh before the Davisons sold it. The clothing ranges in there were extensive and quality. Its never been the same since they sold it and it went nationwide.

I went y'day and if you dont like the Ollie Townend or Musto clothing ranges you've had it because that's all there was. I was gutted

If it hadnt been for having lunch and purchased something from Pretty Ponies, it would of been a thoroughly wasted trip

I hope it doesnt go under as I like DH rugs and nipping up to their store in Wrightington. In fact I was there last weekend.

Haha I was about to write the very same thing but then I realised I was with you ! :-)

I do remember the old store as being better though - it was where we went for good quality items in my younger days

Well the CVA was accepted but it is interesting that their facebook page is rapidly filling up with people who are chasing orders - No business can survive when it never seems to make a profit. Derby house was bought from its now subsidiary about 5 years ago, the subsidiary Derby House Saddlery kept losing money and Derby House continued to do so the last 3 years published accounts (February 2010) showed lossed for taht period of over £8million on an annual turnover each year of about £9 million. I hope the creditors get soem money back but they took a commercial risk I just hope no customers lose out - I certainly will not risk my money buying from them any more.

Oh pooh! I must have been walking around with my damn eyes closed, I just placed an order with them yesterday :( I hope I get it
