I hunted with the South Notts a few weeks ago, not sure where their country lies but the meet I was at was only a mile or two from Ambergate, which I think is your neck of the woods?

4 Shires Blood hounds hunt Sundays (www.4shires.co.uk). Very friendly people. Most of the hunts are between Ashbourne - Derby - Chesterfield -Buxton (roughly!) so there are a couple of meets Matlock way and most within 45 mins drive. High Peak Hunt is mainly stone wall country round Buxton - Bakewell.

The North East Cheshire Drag venture into the Derbyshire PEaks near Glossop, thats a lovely hunt. We used to have them cross our land in Back Rowarth before we moved to the midlands.

I hunt wtih the High Peak, they woudlnt be too far from Matlock - depends which side of Matlock you are i suppose - otherwise Meynell or South Notts may be nearer?

I used to hunt with the High Peak years ago when Bernard Swain was master. It was such fun and is responsible for some of my happiest memories. The Pony Club was fun too.
